Desmond Tremaine Mason (born October 11 1977 in Waxahachie, Texas) is an NBA basketball player currently playing for the New Orleans-Oklahoma City Hornets. He is designated as a swingman, meaning he plays both shooting guard and small forward.

He was drafted out of Oklahoma State University by the Seattle SuperSonics with the 17th pick of the 2000 NBA Draft. In 2003 he was traded, along with Gary Payton, to the Bucks for Ray Allen and Ronald "Flip" Murray. On October 26 2005 he was traded along with a 2006 first-round draft pick to the Hornets in exchange for Jamaal Magloire.

In 2001, he became the first Sonics player in franchise history to win the NBA Slam Dunk Contest.

Desmond was once involved in a fight between he and Yao Ming. It was reported that the fight broke out after Desmond was fouled by Yao nhjghjghjghjghjghjghjghjghjghj.

In addition to his skills on the court, he is an accomplished painter.
